OPEN LETTER TO OUR CUSTOMERS
6/20/2025
Dear Friends,
Forty-five years ago, we walked into our neighborhood florist in North Hollywood—owned by the wonderful Dona Bellettini—offering to work for free after our full-time jobs and on weekends, just to learn the floral business. We had no idea then of the incredible journey ahead of us—as a couple and as artists—in the vibrant (and often exhausting!) world of floristry.
Today, with full hearts, we want to share that we are retiring—effective immediately—and finally taking the time to smell the roses.
This decision comes with many emotions. While we're looking forward to rest, travel, and a slower pace, we know we will deeply miss the daily joy of creating beauty and connecting with you. Working with you has truly been one of the greatest honors of our lives. Your loyalty, kindness, and trust have meant more to us than we can ever express.
From our first store in Westlake Village in 1982, to Flowers on The Blvd and most recently David Jeffrey Florist, we've had the privilege of serving and meeting incredible people—many of whom became much more than customers. We've formed friendships we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
As many of you know, this past year brought unexpected challenges with Jeff’s cancer diagnosis. Through it all, we’ve been incredibly grateful to our amazing employees, Hector and Sam, for their dedication, talent, and care in keeping the shop running.
When we made the decision to retire, we knew we wanted the heart of our business to live on, which is why we chose to pass the business on to our employees if they wanted to continue.
As of June 21st, Hector will be taking the business into the future under the name "Dreamhaus Florals," and we couldn't be prouder or happier for him. Sam will remain as the lead designer, and we will continue to serve as advisors and mentors.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, for your love and support over all these years. This is not goodbye—we’re not disappearing. We’ll continue sharing floral tips and inspirations on our Facebook and Instagram pages, and we hope you’ll stay in touch.
With love and deep gratitude,
Jeff & David

Hello my name is Hector Palacios.
I’d like to take a moment to share a bit of my story with all of David Jeffrey Florist’s valued customers.
Some of you I’ve had the pleasure of meeting in person, and for those I haven’t yet met, I’d love to introduce myself and tell you about the beautiful journey I’m continuing.
Back in 2010, I had the good fortune of meeting David and Jeffrey when I joined their team in this wonderful floral business. I started as a delivery driver, and over time, the David Jeffrey Florist team taught me how to purchase flowers and understand the importance of quality. What began as a job quickly grew into a relationship that felt more like family. They treated me with kindness, generosity, and trust, and that left a lasting impact on me.
Recently, they made the decision to retire and gave me the incredible opportunity to continue the legacy they built over the last 45 years, a successful and beloved business cherished by many of you.
Please know that the same dedication to quality and service will remain unchanged. The familiar team you’ve worked with over the years is still here. For example, Sam, our lead floral designer, has been part of David Jeffrey Florist for over 25 years and continues to bring her creativity and talent to every arrangement.
I am deeply grateful and excited to carry on this legacy, with continued support and guidance from the founders. And if you ever have questions or would like to reach out to David and Jeffrey directly, they are still available to you.
Thank you for your trust and for letting us continue to be part of your most meaningful moments.
